Outstanding location on Plaza del Ángels in the heart of old Madrid just a 10 minute walk to Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol. Parque Retiró and The Prado just a 20 minute walk away. Also, the hotel is a very easy 20 minute downhill walk to the main train station. Unlimited shopping opportunities in every direction along quaint lively avenues. Our junior suite was fairly basic with no real elegant features though the king bed was comfortable and the three sets of large windows included folding shutters to keep out the sun. A mostly quiet location with at least a dozen patio dining options less than a minute from the front entrance. While not a “luxury” hotel with over the top services the Tepa was more than adequate for the three nights we stayed.

This hotel is wonderful. We loved it so much that we decided to spend our last night in Spain there after traveling through Seville, the Algarve, and Portugal. The staff were all very professional and helpful. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. The shower is amazing with easy to control temperature and excellent water pressure. Loved overlooking the square, and breakfast was delicious. The location is excellent for walking and was safe. Housekeeping was 5 stars - very clean, well stocked room. Highly recommend.

The room was comfortable but the shower room was so small and there were no flat surfaces other than the floor and nowhere to hang robes and clothes. The breakfast was amazingly good with excellent choices and good quality food. The breakfast staffs were superb - very helpful and always pleasant The beds were extremely comfortable!

My first room was on the first floor with roadworks outside which kept me awake for most of the first night when traffic went over the temporary metal plates in the road. When I complained they moved me to a different room very efficiently. Always interesting to see how an organisation deals with problems. They did very well.
